Ten months.  Oh well.

So this is my comeback maybe.  Ish?  I don’t really know.  This one alone took weeks of procrastination to get the the horrible state it’s in now.  Maybe I’ll bang out another one soon.  But then again, I say that all the time.  I say lots of stuff.  Then I do nothing.  Take that, Internet!

So I do have some comics ready to go, but I wanted to give that tablet I bought one more try. No dice. I can’t draw on that thing. At all. It works just fine. But I’m used to pencil and pen on paper. The friction on the tablet is just not sufficient for me to draw anything that doesn’t look like it was penned by a Parkinson’s patient. I put 4 hours into tracing just five panels of the upcoming comic and that’s not even half the damn thing. And what was there would need as much touch up, if not more, than an inked scan. So fuck it! I’m going to get back to the drawing board – literally – and get this thing banged out old school!

Don’t get me wrong, I like fishing.  I like it better when I catch fish.  I like it even better when those fish are good size walleye.  I went out with my father last weekend, presumably to catch fish.  We did, but not the fish we wanted.  Oh, there’s lots of little pike, perch, and bass in that lake right now and they just love to snatch up a juicy minnow.  But the pickerel were nowhere to be found.  We caught one keeper.  That was an embarrassing admission at the OPP fish check thing on the highway.  There’s everyone else pulled off to the side for inspection and we get waved through because no one but us freely admits to catching only one keeper.

And it was COLD.  Windy and cold.  Just like today here in T-Bay.  It’s fucking June and I had the furnace on when the sun went down.  The fuck?

It’s been a while.  Too long.  I’ve been very lazy and apathetic towards pretty much everything in my life.  I’m changing that slowly.  This is part of that so bear with me while I get back into gear.

I’ve been waiting a long time for this movie.  I saw it tonight while this strip was up on my table unfinished.  I really wanted it to be good (the movie).  I think it was.  It stands alone as well as it integrates into the ST universe.  It’s re-written about 40 years of Star Trek history but what else was there to do.  The same-old same-old just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

That being said, there’s going to be many upitty fans and purists who will not like this film.  Too bad.   Like it or not, it’s there… kind of like this comic!

Then, about two weeks ago, my internet connection went all squirrely on me.  That just got fixed two days ago and I’ve been busy with work, life, and snow storms since.  I’m waiting on a drawing tablet I ordered to arrive, as well.  Once that gets here I will sort out the FTP shit, then update my tragically out-of-date version of WordPress, and then once I’ve fixed all the lingering problems from THAT I will begin updating the comic again.  I will be laid off from work at that point so I should have all the time in the world to not bother with the comic.

I’m taking another shot at a storyline.  It’s not going to make any sense and will be quite ridiculous but that suits me just fine.  I’m going to make it funny for me and the select few that share my sense of humour so if you don’t get it, I apologize.

I have a general idea of what I want to do with this story but beyond that anything I come up with will probably make it into the comic.  It will be pretty stupid so fairly warned be thee, says I.

I’m also going to try and keep to a Monday and Friday update schedule but don’t count on it.  If that’s untennable then I’m going with Mondays.  It’s best see my nonsense at the beginning of the week so it can fester in your brains while you waste you life at work.

Interesting side note: every sentence in this post has begun with the letter “I”.

Also, I’ve got some ideas for a storyline that I’m mashing about in my head right now.  Might be a while before that starts but in the meantime I’m trying to get back into this on a regular basis.
